Park Pavilion on the Hill

On the trail along the slopes of Mount Royal, a stopover offers hikers a contemplative view of the city and the Monteregian hills in a building that explores the various possibilities of wood.

As the visitor passes through the building, he passes from a space gradually in compression to a sudden opening onto the grandiose landscape. The pavilion is a real "Object to look at". It is both a kind of lens to frame the view and a sculpture whose copper roof mirrors the profile of the steep terrain below.
